The Stauferfalknerei Kloster Lorch wants everyone to be able to use this website comfortably – including people with visual impairments, screen reader users, keyboard-only users and anyone who enlarges the text.

What this website offers

Everything about the birds of prey flight show at Lorch Abbey – dates, opening times and prices – plus our courses and experiences, the Naturnah Akademie, bird sponsorships, the spring festival and how to find us.

In the online shop you can book courses and buy gift vouchers, paying online or by bank transfer. The contact form lets you enquire about private experiences, group flight shows and sponsorships.

How we approach accessibility

The website is built to the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, on which the European standard EN 301 549 is also based. This includes:

• sufficient colour contrast in light and dark mode,
• full keyboard operation, a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to content” link,
• text alternatives for images, a clear heading structure and labelled form fields,
• text that can be enlarged to 200 % without losing content,
• respect for your device’s “reduce motion” setting,
• no captchas and no third-party tracking.

Every change to the website is checked automatically for barriers. A full audit by an independent testing body has not yet taken place.

Known limitations

• Online payment in the shop is handled by Stripe, which is responsible for the accessibility of its payment page. You can pay by bank transfer instead.
• The photos of the sponsorship birds only give the species and name of the bird as their description.
• Services of other providers that we link to – Google Maps for directions, PayPal for donations, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube – are outside our control; their providers are responsible for their accessibility.
