Erik Pelz is the son of founder Gunter Pelz and co-founded the Stauferfalknerei Lorch. He has been a professional falconer for more than 20 years – and you can tell the moment you see him with his birds. Their welfare always comes first. He shares his extensive knowledge with young and old in an easy-to-follow way, always with a good dose of humour.

Gunter Pelz
Founder of the Stauferfalknerei
Gunter Pelz founded the Stauferfalknerei and has been a falconer since the age of eight. He has published animal and nature magazines, bred poultry and horses, organised trade fairs and trained hunting dogs – always driven by his love of animals and nature. Today he passes on his knowledge and experience at the Naturnah Akademie.

Anneliese Welz
Local guide and hiking leader
Nature and culture have always been close to her heart. A nurse by profession, she worked mainly in home care. In retirement she shares her knowledge of the region’s nature and history as a local guide and hiking leader.

Tanja Winter
Psychologist (M.Sc.), forest therapist
Tanja Winter is a psychologist (M.Sc.) and psycho-oncologist. She works at a hospital with people affected by cancer and psychosomatic illness, and in an outpatient psychotherapy practice. She is a university-certified forest therapist and forest mindfulness trainer.

Nadine Maier
Commercial manager · Falconer in training
For several years Nadine Maier has been not only a permanent member of the Stauferfalknerei team but, as Erik Pelz’s partner, also part of the family. Whatever our guests want to know about our programmes or the organisation, she always has the right answer. She also accompanies various experiences with our birds of prey under the guidance of the falconers. Thanks to her commitment, our guests feel well looked after and enjoy their visit to the Stauferfalknerei.
